Sent by Henk from Tiel, one of the oldest towns in the Netherlands and was founded in the 5th century AC. Originally Tiel was situated on the Linge river.Tiel became an important tradecenter in the Middle Ages and was associated with the Hanseatic League.
The Betuwe is situated between the Waal and Rhine rivers. Tiel the largest town in the Betuwe area, which is famous for being one of te centres of Dutch fruit production.Orchards in the area produce apples, pears, plums and cherries.
